August - September Pic Capsule 2025…Actually Romantic 😉

For many years I would turn to the little squares of Instagram and delight in sharing soul wisdom with my growing #gumbootsbythesea community 🙏 What started as a little “love and pretty things” small business grew into Soul Expansion and Engery Healing @with_kate_darnell and my goodness didn’t we soar…so much so that Silas and I found ourselves leaving the beloved fig tree and family farmhouse, purchasing our own little piece of us and settling into a community that feels like it’s always been home. There are plenty of Soul Guides and Expansion Coaches that exchange their services at huge costs but it wasn’t feeling aligned for me and I found myself coordinating a local women’s shed before taking on the management of an incredible neighbourhood service.

My soul work didn’t and hasn’t stopped, actually I think it ramped up a few gears, never have I had the privledge of pouring heart and soul into community development and watching the energy of humans and this divine universe do it’s thing🌞

I still have incredible 1:1 clients and am recharged after every session ♾️ I am truly honoured to engage in deep soul work and spiritual guidance and soon (but not just yet) #sacredsoulsystem will be revamped and shared with you via a soul led and long time collaboration with my dear friend and colleague @nadinethecakequeen #joy

My books are available locally at @brushturkeybooks and this year I’ve shared art in @incognitoartshow 🤫 and will have some magical pieces at @mvnservices #MVNSONA art show to share too!

12 months already…

In April, my heart broke; one of the greatest loves of my life died and every night (for nights afterwards) I would dream of holding his warm hand and every night (for nights following) I would wake and remember he is no longer here.

No more tight embraces, or gruff disregards, sparkling moments of true and deep whole hearted love.

My heart broke in April
and I met a new piece of me.

Ten years ago today…we were waiting for Lulu.

According to her due date she was still four weeks away but I knew she’d be here sooner…and today I had fun reflecting, that a decade ago, in a week from now, Lulu would arrive.

Simultaneously, Dot, Lulu’s great grandmother, my divine Nan, had us convinced she was leaving earth side [spoiler: we were thankful that she treated us to nine, full, divine more years] a lot was going on, we had a one year old and Silas had just celebrated his 30th birthday.
🌌
While we knew life was about to get more full, we were pretty equip at going with the flow. It feels indulgent to caption this little pic and I’m not even sure what I’m trying to articulate…today, this picture captured, two lovely children…growing more and more into themselves everyday and I’m so excited to wish Lulu a happy number ten next week, I’m delighted to be Eden and Lucy’s Mum AND I’m undeniably chuffed to be parenting them with Silas ❤️🌌

So many of the poems from The Next Best Thing have been nestled on scraps of paper or in my phone notes for many years! In 2022 we discovered a family of Wood ducks, the ducklings had been separated from Mumma Duck and had presented themselves at our back door at our beautiful farm-house home under the fig tree - fortunately we were able to get most of them back to their mum but one got left behind and ended up at ours again 😔 that evening I learnt that when separated they will fret and stress and without Mumma - die. At the time I was still sorting Womb Hymn and there was something equally heart stabbing and healing about this discovery and experience of love and loss 🌞 Ducks play a symbolic part in my world - there are little ducks shared throughout my recent publication of The Next Best Thing symbolizing, love, renewal and the beginning of fresh chapters!
